Alimak’s mission is to provide safe and reliable vertical access solutions for construction and industrial customers.
Alimak is market leader in permanent vertical access solutions for industry and mobile solutions for the construction market. Industrial elevators are customized according to need in the particular industry, including power, refineries, oil drilling platforms, ports, steelworks, mines and infrastructure. Hoists and platforms for the construction industry are normally more standardized and safety is the most highly prioritized element. Alimak also rents out construction hoists and work platforms. A global network provides rapid and efficient product support and service. The company’s product and service offering is continuously developed via new product launches in both existing and new segments. The Group offers several different technologies.
The Group’s products and solutions are sold under the brands Alimak Hek, CoxGomyl, Manntech and Avanti, brands with strong market recognition and known for their strong safety record, high quality and durability.
The Group complements its diverse product portfolio with comprehensive service offerings geared to its customers’ specific needs, including aftersales services, used equipment sales and rental services. The Group’s aftersales service activities form an essential part of its value proposition for its customers and have in the past generated attractive margins and stable revenues.
As of April 1st 2017 Alimak has approx. 66,000 installed units worldwide.
Under 2016, the Group generated 36, 8 %, 33, 7%, 24, 3% and 5, 2% of its revenue in Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and the rest of the world, respectively. Not including the acquired companies.
The Group’s operations are organized in four business areas that cater to customers with distinct end user needs:
Develops, manufactures and sells a wide range of hoists, work and transport platforms and material and tower crane elevators for temporary use in construction and renovation projects. The products are often customized and specified according to the customers’ needs and specific application. The products can be cost effectively installed, moved and customised to suit different projects. In recent years, the product portfolio has been supplemented by the inclusion of more standardised hoists.
For the year ended December 31, 2016, the Construction Equipment business area generated 34% of the Group’s revenue and 25% of the Group’s operating profit (adj) excluding the aquired units BMU and Wind.
Develops, manufactures and sells a wide range of elevators, platforms, service lifts and building maintenance units (BMUs). The solutions are permanently installed and adapted to the customer’s needs and specific application. The products are distinguished by strict requirements as to safety, reliability, quality and efficiency and are in many cases used in demanding industrial environments. The most important markets are industrial sectors such as power, oil and gas, petrochemicals, infrastructure, cement, ports and shipyards.
The business area is organized in four units; General Industry, Oil & Gas, Wind and BMU (building maintenance units).
For the year ended December 31, 2016, the Industrial business area generated 18% of the Group’s revenue and -4% of the Group’s operating profit (adj) excluding the aquired units BMU and Wind.
Business area Rental hires out Alimak’s construction hoists and platforms to the construction industry in a number of key markets in Europe and Australia. Rental activities are supplemented by a range of support services, including project planning, assembly, dismantling, maintenance, transportation and servicing. The business area also sells used equipment, above all from its own rental stock.
For the year ended December 31, 2016, the Rental business area generated 15% of the Group’s revenue and 11% of the Group’s operating profit (adj).
Offers Alimak customers a wide range of service options. The offering ranges from installation and technical support, to maintenance, repairs, spare parts and service, renovation and modernisation, surveillance systems and training across the lifecycle of the equipment. The business area offers safe, reliable and fast service to customers worldwide.
For the year ended December 31, 2016, the After Sales business area generated 33% of the Group’s revenue and 68% of the Group’s operating profit (adj).
